“you can begin in your own cupboard, by eliminating processed food, trying to cook a meal a little more often, trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables.” Mrs. Obama

The first lady of United State has made it her mission to inform the public the benefits of eating right and the consequences of junk food on the individuals health. She is saying in her quote that people should stop eating to much processed foods since it contains preservative chemicals, that in the long run it would cause health problems. She recommends cooking your meals using fresh vegetables and eating more fruits is beneficial to your health and your families health because it has less calories and all the nutrition the body needs.

My eating habit is eating vegetable, fruit, and our cultural food that we call Injera a type of bread from Ethiopia. Injera is used to eat different types of stew made using vegetable, meat and chicken mostly. I can say that my eating habit is healthy since I hate the taste of processed food, I always cook stew to eat with injera and buy lots of different types of fruit to make smoothie in the mornings to drink.

Injera is traditional made out of teff flour and is the national dish of Ethiopia. I buy my Injera from Shabbele grocery shop on the 26th Franklin Ave south in Minneapolis because everyday they have fresh Injera made next door. They also sell different type of ethic Ethiopian spices, including Berbere which is used in most of Ethiopian style wot (stew).  I buy my vegetables, meat, chicken and fruits from the local Cup Foods store because the vegetables and fruits are always fresh and sell at a reasonable price.

Growing up my mom always cooked and I love her for that, because so far I am very healthy and so are my two brothers. I believe the food we eat is safe, if we buy fresh from local trusted markets and cook it ourselves.
